About the Program Our Assistant Stylist Program

Our Assistant Stylist Program is a paid, hands-on education and mentorship experience designed to help you go from beauty school grad to confident, career-ready stylist. You’ll work closely with experienced stylists, learn directly on the salon floor, and build your skillset step by step — all while earning an hourly wage and behind the chair opportunity.

Program length: 12 to 24 months (depending on your pace and progress)

Schedule: 32–40 hours per week

What it includes: One-on-one mentorship, shadowing, salon training, model work, and hands-on education

The goal: Help you become a confident, skilled stylist who’s fully prepared to succeed behind the chair

What You’ll Learn as an Assistant Stylist

Our program is broken down into four progressive phases. You’ll move forward as you master each set of skills, refine your timing, and grow your confidence.

Foundations	3–4 months	Client haircare, shampooing, blow-dry, product knowledge	Pro shampoo techniques, blowouts, guest experience, intro to salon systems
Core Cutting & Color	3–5 months	One-length + graduated cuts, toning, root touch-ups	Basic hair color, toning, cutting fundamentals
Advanced Techniques	4–6 months	Layering, foiling, creative color, men’s cuts, razor work	Placement, efficiency, creativity
Pre-Stylist Readiness	3–5 months	Model services, consultations, full client flow	Consults, full transformations, business-building skills

Once you complete the program, you’ll move into an Assistant Hairstylist role at Station Salon along with continued education and growth opportunities.

Assistant Stylist Program Pay + Perks

We’re committed to fair pay and ongoing growth.

Position	Pay	Perks
Assistant Hair Stylist Program	$17.50 – 19.00/hr	Paid education days, model work, advanced classes, mentorship, commission on model services

Raises and promotions are based on your progress, performance, professionalism, and contributions — not just time spent in the program.
